10 things to do before starting a blog

10 things to do before starting a blog for beginners | Blogging should be your passion at the time of starting a blog, you should not think of directly making money from your blog at the beginning otherwise I know many of my friends who started blogging just for making money not for their interest and after a few months, they quit as their blog was not able to generate money for them.

Top 10 Tips for Beginners before Starting a Blog

As in every article I am mentioning that blogging is a long-term business and if you maintain your blog well for the first six months without thinking of making money, it will prove to be a good money-making source for a lifetime.

I am writing this post to make you aware of some steps you should follow before starting a blog i.e registering a domain name and web hosting.

STEP 1: Think of A Better Domain Name For your Blog

Thinking of a domain name is the first step you should take before starting a blog, as this is a world of competition and according to a survey there are 175+ million blogs online and getting a better domain name is just like searching for a pearl in the sea.

Your domain name must be unique and should represent everything about the content on your blog.

Step 2: Choose A Topic For Your Blog

Choosing a blog topic is another step towards starting a blog, as your blog topic represents each and every content of your blog.

You should choose a topic in which you should be interested and should have knowledge in-depth about your blog topic and even your blog topic should attract a large mass of audience on the internet.

Here is a list of blog topics that covers a large audience on the internet and you should choose one among them or may choose a unique topic which may be attractive and can engage a large number of internet users.

Step 3: Write at least 50 posts for your blog

Now, it’s time to be a writer, start creating content for your blog and provide a unique and attractive topic to each post, and never copy other's content in your post.

Try to write content with your own words, and even this will improve your writing skills and no one can claim copyright for that article.

Store each post in a sequential manner in the ms-word document and keep it in a format that will be ready to use in your blog with suitable headings.

Step 4: Create a demo blog on a free platform

There are different free blogging platforms, the most common among those are bloggers and WordPress.

Just register with any one of the free blogging platforms and create a demo blog i.e create front end layout, customize and upload content to that blog.

Just carry it out for free, make blogging your habit and passion and create a demo blog.

Think from your audience's view, what exactly they want from your blog, and then design an attractive demo blog.

Step 5: Create an album filled with images

Now it’s time to play with images, and create some images to attach to your posts using any photo editing software.

Your images should be post-related and attractive so that it can engage more and more internet users on your blog.

Create an album and store all your images in it and use it on your topic or post demand, At least each post should consist of one image.

Images used should be such that it can give a brief overview of your content i.e. each image on your blog should talk about the content related to it.

Step 6: Register with different social media sites

When coming to talking about social media sites, the first thing that came to my mind is Facebook and according to me, the same is with you also.

Many people use Facebook just for chatting, making friends, and passing time but for bloggers, it is a free advertising platform to promote your blog or individual post.

There are other social networking sites you should enroll with before starting a blog, the most common among them are:

Twitter
Pinterest
LinkedIn
Instagram
Youtube

Step 7: Make videos related to your post

Make attractive videos related to your post and create a youtube channel and upload those videos to youtube and attach those videos to your blog and start gaining subscribers for your channel.

Apply for Google AdSense with your channel and once you cross 10000+ views on your videos, you will start earning with videos.

Step 8: Three pages you should create

Every blogger should create the following three pages and add information to them:

About Us: Every blog should have an About page where you should provide your introduction, your goal behind launching the blog, and other information related to you or your blog.

Contact Us: Here generally you had to provide your contact information so that a visitor of your blog can contact you 24×7 and generally it consists of a contact form.

Privacy: Here you should share your policy stating that your user's data is safe with you or not if a user enrolls in your website and the rules for using your website.

Step 9: Start Keyword Research

Keyword research mainly refers to finding the right keyword for your blog posts. This mainly leads to the growth of our blog in a short period of time and attracts visitors to our blog.

Usually, we should use a keyword that has high volume but low competition, this generates a regular engagement of internet users on your blog.

Step 10: Schedule your blogging time

Setting up a schedule for posting is extremely important, so before you dive into that aspect of your blog, take some time to polish your first post. Don’t publish it until you’re absolutely sure it’s ready to go online.

Every day for six months, daily at least publish one post on your blog and schedule half an hour daily for promoting your each day post via different mediums whether it is Facebook, Google, Instagram, etc.

Also, create a database consisting of at least 5000 e-mails and schedule daily to message them about your new blog post.
